After dark on August 16, the State Library of Queensland will be transformed into a Brazilian fiesta with Queensland’s newest young designers and fresh‐faced models at the 2011 Young and Emerging Designers Party (YEDP).
Last year Vogue snapped up YEDP show opener Codie Young to grace the cover of the October issue and designer Edwina Sinclair opened her flagship boutique, crystallising YEDP as a fashion industry launch pad.
Vivien’s Model Management booker, Jess Bandiera said that YEDP was an amazing opportunity for the modelling agency to launch their newest crop of talented models.
“It’s a creative mix of young, innovative and passionate people that come together to put a real show on that is talked about weeks and even months later,” said Miss Bandiera.
“For Vivien’s to collaborate with an event like YEDP has been such an amazing opportunity to launch our up and coming models and showcase what Brisbane really has to offer,” she said.
The glittering Queensland Terrace will be aglow with the latest collections from the likes of Bianca Batson (batson.), Madeleine Murdoch (Zhou) and Edwina Sinclair (Soot.).
“You can expect to see lots of custom digital prints and even horse hair fashioned into amazing jewellery,” said event director Tom O’Connor.
“It’s always great to be working with a young team. The average age on set for the YEDP campaign shoot was 21! It’s always a thrill to see young Queenslanders bringing their ideas to life and making a difference,” he said.
