Weekday dinner sorted, at Spicers Balfour

There’s nothing quite like popping around to the neighbours place for a cheeky vino and dinner mid-week. It’s even better when they’re a whiz in the kitchen.

From the outside, Spicers Balfour Hotel resembles many of the large and beautiful classic Queenslander homes found in its neighbourhood, the fashionable inner-city Brisbane suburb of New Farm. Walking in, it’s just like popping next door to your friends place, welcoming, cheerful… and boy do these neighbours have good taste! Inside this iconic Queenslander you’ll discover a chic and stylish interior and you can choose to dine inside, or on the verandah which is screened by frangipani trees.

While most places are closed in Brisbane on a Monday night, Spicers welcomes locals to pop-in for BYO Mondays at Balfour… one of my fave nights of the week. Dust off that bottle of something special or pick up your fave bottle to enjoy with dinner from 5:30pm. Featuring a modern Australian menu with European flair, Spicers pride themselves on offering their clientele a casual, intimate experience with a menu they won’t forget. Our top pick, is the Pork Belly for main, perfectly crispy on top and moist and tender in the middle. Followed by the chocolate brownie… with snickers ganache… that’s right, snickers ganache {insert drolling emoji here!}!!

And if you’re feeling like a break from cooking mid-week, Spicers have you covered for a luxe Wednesday night treat as well, with local acoustic artists coupled with a tasting menu comprising of five dishes which is available with matching wines.

And better still, once you’ve finished enjoying your vino and a beautiful meal, these neighbours don’t make you do the dishes!
