We all know Brisbanites love a great street party; especially one that has been kicking around our streets for 21 years! Valley Fiesta 2017 is a free, all-ages festival which celebrates the streets, laneways, and culture of our vibrant Fortitude Valley aka The Valley. Over two days this coming weekend Friday 27th October and Saturday 28th October, Brisbane City Council will transform The Valley into the grandest Valley Fiesta yet; with food, art, music, markets, multicultural activities and fashion! Something for everyone!
Presented by the Brisbane City Council, Valley Fiesta 2017 is Brisbane’s largest free music event with more than 50 artists and roving performances from some local, national and international acts! Some highlight acts include; The Jungle Giants, Fatman Scoop, The Creases, Bleeding Knees Club, Velociraptor, The Jensens, The Seefelds and many more. Be sure to check out all the set times so you don’t miss out on your fav. #FOMO is a real thing people! There is also a Live & Local DJ and Band Competition for emerging artists.
The Multicultural Showcase celebrates international artists from Bolivia, Cook Islands, India, Spain, and many more and even includes a Bollywood Dance Workshop. There’s something for everyone this weekend at Valley Fiesta.
A little bit of housekeeping…Valley Fiesta is a FREE, non-ticketed event for all ages! However, it is worth noting that some venues are strictly 18+, so if you’re planning on heading in with younger families it is best to check venues before you arrive. There will be plenty of ATMs on site, however skip the queues and bring some moula with you the event. Also public transport is recommended in and out of the festival with some road closures in and around Fortitude Valley.
