I visit the city everyday… so am always on the hunt for new lunch options. I buy lunch so sticking to a budget is pretty important, but I don’t like to sacrifice flavour!
Two new Asian-street-food-style offerings have popped up in the QueensPlaza food court recently. And I made it my business to try both of them this week!
New Shanghai is superb. You walk into the restaurant and within seconds forget you are in a food court. The dim lighting, share tables and décor; transport you to a Shanghai market… fantastic for forgetting about the work you have to get back to after lunch! I tried the mini pork buns (filled with yummy steaming broth), Lamb and Leek Dumplings and seasonal vegetables sautéed in garlic… ordered way to much so luckily you can take your leftovers away for afternoon tea!
Roll’d is amazing Vietnamese street-style food. I’ve been working my way through the city’s ricepaper roll offerings and must say Roll’d certainly top the list. The addition of toasted sesame seeds and coriander finish them off and give them an authentic flavour no one else seems to have mastered. Plus you can get 3 rolls for under $10… bargain! Next on my list to try is the ‘Mr Bun Mee’ and a homemade iced tea! Yum!
In the city, on your lunch-break?? Check these guys out!
