Now I don’t know if I fell asleep on the train… but it seems I have opened my eyes and a whole bunch of American-inspired eateries have sprung up in Brisbane!
Here are my top 5 from ‘would eat there everyday’, ‘would eat there when i’m broke’ and ‘next on the list to try’.
1. Southside Diner – South Bank
Holy guacamole! Southside Diner is outrageously good! I’ve tried the ribs, the pulled pork sliders, the hot dog and the mac n cheese… ok I’ve eaten there way too many times in the last month!!
2. Yard Bird Ale House – New Farm
If heat is your thang’ (it’s not mine!) then the death wings are a must try. Luckily for the not-so-adventurous of us they have another tonne of options of wing flavours! The chipotle BBQ are my personal fave!
6/24 Martin Street, Fortitude Valley, Brisbane
3. Mighty Mighty Cue & Brew – Fortitude Valley
I dropped in here last night and they were booked out! I think it has something to do with their slow cooked lamb ribs marinated in COLA!! Holy yum… I am desperate to get some of their ribs in my belly!
100 McLachlan Street, Fortitude Valley, Brisbane
4. Papa Jack’s – Fortitude Valley
For more of a bar-inspired evening Papa Jack’s is awesome. Papa Jack’s takes you on a journey into the heartland of the Creole South, rich with traditions, stories and of course inspirational music, delectable drinks and dazzling cuisine. My suggestion, leave it up to the bartender, the bar allows you to pick a dollar value for a one-of-a-kind cocktail experience!
Cnr Connor & McLachlan Street, Fortitude Valley, Brisbane
5. Carolina Kitchen – Coorparoo
Carolina Kitchen is my local! It’s cheap and cheerful and kinda like walking into your friends place and picking up a slice of delicious pecan pie!
38 Macaulay st, Coorparoo, Brisbane
