There’s a new girl on the Brisbane hotel scene, and I think it’s safe to say she’s looking pretty hot.
Hotel Jen, a 4-star hotel franchise located in the Asia Pacific, has arrived in Brisbane and will its doors soon as Australia’s first of a new ‘Jenre’ of hotels by Shangri-La International Hotel Management. Worldwide, it’s second behind the recently unveiled Hotel Jen Singapore.
The Brisbane newbie is currently known as Traders Hotel at the Roma Street Station (previously, Holiday Inn), but has undergone a complete transformation and all of its 191 rooms have been given new life via renovations and refurnishing.
It’s a new generation of hotel for a new generation of travellers, promoting a fun, active lifestyle full of adventure and discovery.
Hotel Jen has all of the usual hotel inclusions (WIFI, mini bar, 24 hour in-room dining, electronic safe, buffet breakfast) and special features including a business kiosk, meeting rooms, a Grand Ballroom, an Outdoor Terrace, a renovated shipping container turned coffee shop and the soon-to-be-open ‘Nest’ Restaurant, Bar and Café that will specialise in Asian fusion cuisine.
My favourite part though, is the inclusion of a 6th floor terrace with an organic ‘SkyGarden’ of over 20 herbs and vegetables used daily by the hotel’s kitchen staff. The SkyGarden is also home to two bee-hives that produce multi-floral honey, which is spun-on-site for guests to enjoy.
Besides it’s features, the location of Hotel Jen is on point for local, interstate and international travellers because it is close to Fortitude Valley’s nightlife, the CBD shopping precinct, numerous dining and entertainment hotspots and is in the middle of a public transport super-hub.
As the Hotel Jen brand pops up in China, the Maldives, Malaysia and the Philippinnes, it looks like we’ll be hearing and seeing a lot more of Hotel Jen in the future. Budding travellers take note.
