You know, I knew Brisbane’s vintage scene was solid… but I didn’t realise just how impressive it was until putting together this list! There is literally something for everyone… cheap ‘n’ chic; fine jewellery, band tees; costume-worthy; collectables; shoes-to-die-for; and a whole lot of giving back, sustainability and community love x

Here are my faves….

These guys have a t-shirt collection the size of … well it’s massive ok! Even cooler than that their boutique also serves as a gallery space for local artists.  And it is run by some of the coolest people in Brisbane I know. Kudos for them supporting their local creative community! Love!

La Bella Donna – Morningside

A reader favourite La Bella Donna is located in Morningside and sources amazing product from private sellers, estate sales and collectors of genuine vintage. If you are in the market for a unique piece or have a few of your own you’d like to sell, this is the place!

Sunday Social – Fortitude Valley

A Winn Lane favourite that keeps making appearances on Brisbane Threads – like here and here. Sunday Social keeps us coming back for the carefully curated selection of awesomeness. Seriously cool chicks, with some seriously cool threads.

It’s Vintage Darling – Annerley

It’s Vintage Darling, is simple a marvellous way to spend a morning! Get your caffeine hit at their café serving organic coffee; gather some fashion inspiration pouring over their collection of 1950’s Women’s Weekly and then straight to the over-sized changeroom to live out all of your vintage fashion fantasies!

Show Peony Parlour – West End

Vintage clothing, amazing costuming and a bespoke design service available – what more could a vintage lover want? Well how about a ‘Tea and Tease’ life-drawing evening? Ooo lala!

The best little Vintage Van in Vegas – various locations

A vintage clothing store on wheels… what a freakin’ great idea! This little van is filled with vintage collectables, appears at local markets and is available for hire!

Ra Ra Superstar – Paddington

Brisbane Threads have been a fan of Ra Ra from the beginning… seriously I just searched our website and they appear in 7 articles since their opening in 2010!! You can find the Ra Ra Superstar eponymous label alongside a fantastic collection of authentic vintage pieces.

SWOP – West End

SWOP is a thoughtfully curated clothing collection of reclaimed, reused and recycled vintage, upcycled vintage fashion and modern apparel, barely worn and in excellent condition. They purchase your unwanted clothing and resell, creating a cycle of fashion retail built on sustainability and collaboration. And they have a fantastic eye for stylish, good quality pieces – you’ll be spoilt for choice at an amazing price!

Woolloongabba Antique Centre – Woolloongabba

Dealers who trade in Art Deco, L’Art Nouveau, Industrial, Fine French Antique Furniture, Hollywood Glamour Fashion, Rockabilly Fashion of the 50’s and 60’s, Kitchen-alia, Rural Antiques and Quirky Collectables. I’d say they’ve just about covered everything a vintage-lover’s heart desires!!

Retro Metro – Paddington

A Paddington vintage-institution, Retro Metro has been serving the needs of vintage-loving Brisbanite’s for years and has a legion of loyal customers. Ever-glued to their Facebook feed for new stock these cats never disappoint! Oh sorry, a rack of velvet jackets just went up… I’ll be back!

Hey Hey it’s Yesterday’s Thrift Shop – Paddington

In aid of the Developing Foundation who works to enable people with disability caused through brain injury or developmental disability to achieve their potential and help improve their quality of life. An amazing group of people and some vintage fashion bargains to be had!

Vinnies – Paddington

I swear this boutique has been there since the dawn of time, and every time I go in I find something amazing! Last time it was a tablecloth, but there have been leather jackets, Dr Martens and countless vinyl records. Ahhh happy days!

Endo’s Labels – Paddington

Endeavour Foundation Recycled Clothing Stores are awesome, not only can you pick up a bargain, but the proceeds are going back to support people with a disability to lead active, meaningful lives. Donate your unwanted wardrobe items, or donate your spare change on a new outfit.

Paddington Antique Centre – Paddington

Rails and rails of vintage goodness all culminating in their annual Frocks, Docs & Diamonds parade… an event to watch out for each year! Their collection of genuine antique jewellery is divine!

Can you keep a Secret – Greenslopes

No I can’t. This vintage boutique is simply tooo good! Frocks, frocks and more frocks! They’ve closed briefly for a renovation and will be back open after the Easter break on the 22nd of April!
