Daily Outfit Inspo – Feeling Active

posted by Teagan West January 22, 2015 0 comments

Happy Thursday ladies! I’m feeling like I need to get back into an exercise routine, and we know there’s no better way to get motivated than to don cool-girl active threads (you can see our favourite Australian active brands here). I personally love the Lorna Jane and Adidas by Stella McCartney range of activewear with an everyday, lifestyle feel. They’re perfect for a river walk and coffee date, the gym and groceries or a school run followed by group pilates. Whatever the active occasion there’s something funky to rock.

And a pink combo never fails!

Active Threads to Inspire

It’s mid-January (gasp!), so it’s time to evaluate your New Year resolutions and see if you’re on track…

I bet there’s a whole army of you promising to focus on your health, fitness and general wellbeing – whether it be eating a more balanced diet, using that gym membership, meditating for internal wellbeing, exercising daily or having more ‘me’ time. We all know how hard it is come January to start bringing those goals to fruition on the 1st, and it’s even harder 2 weeks in.

So how are you going, so far? Are you giving it your all and reaping the benefits, or are you struggling to get motivated and up-and-at-‘em? Whatever the case, a little bit of motivation (in the form of retail therapy of course) cannot go astray.

I know I’m very guilty of finding motivation to exercise in the form of buying new active gear. It’s a way of starting fresh and being inspired by active threads that support you and get you in the mood for a good sweat. From my own experience, it works a treat (plus it’s a justified shopping trip!). Here’s some of the best activewear in Oz that’ll inspire you to reach your health and fitness goals in 2015. Sweat it out in style babes.

Modern and stylish yoga attire inspired by the colourful leggings adorning Brazil’s active crowd. The Hatha range is designed on the Sunshine Coast and made ethically in Rio de Janeiro from high performance fabrics which offer flexibility and UV protection and are breathable, soft, lightweight and definitely no see through.

THE hub for all things activewear, Stylerunner is an online retailer specialising in the best, most stylish activewear from Australia and beyond. Made up of an inspiring curated selection of active attire from major brands including adidas, FELLA, First Base, lululemon athletica, Lorna Jane, Nike, Onzie, Puma, Running Bare and many more, it’s no wonder Stylerunner has jumped to the top of the flock.

Street fashion label Finders Keepers has just launched a new activewear range that combines the brands style aesthetic with high performance activewear. At the moment there’s only two prints – floral and blue tartan – however it’s enough to whet the appetite for what is sure to come next (think leopard, pinstripe and more).

Lorna Jane

There’s no denying Lorna Jane Clarkson is queen of cool-girl activerwear, so jump on board the MNB bandwagon and stock up on neon brights, slogan tees, short shorts and all the active accessories you will ever need. The Move, Nourish, Believe blog running alongside the LJ brand is also a fabulous source of active living inspiration.

Vie Active is a luxury active-wear brand with a Bondi-cool attitude created for the way we live our busy lives. Quality and integrity is key and the collection of fun patterns will get you up and moving in no time.

Founded by Australian fashion designer Jodi Meares, The Upside was designed to allow people to move freely throughout the lives they create as we focus more on a healthy lifestyle. The classic muscle tank is the cool-girl piece for every active wardrobe and there’s a host of fashion-forward prints and shapes to take you from your sweat session to the rest of your day.

Prints galore minus the OTT neon. The abi & joseph brand can be summed up in four words – performance, style, perfection, quality. It’s a range that inspires the modern woman to live an active, healthy lifestyle, and has an emphasis on cool threads for yoga and pilates workouts. abiandjoseph-active-bt

So what are you waiting for – shop some new threads and get your heart pumping and your body singing.

Give your mum something, or two things, from Lorna Jane that will motivate her for a fresh new year. She can get organised with a planner or diary, get motivated with Lorna Jane’s fitness and business success stories, and make some nourishing recipes in a stylish new apron.

My mums picks are the insulated lunch bag and Nourish cook book – which if you grabbed for your mum, would save you $30!

Enjoy spoiling your Mama the way she deserves!

Christmas Gift Guide : For The Gals in Your Life

posted by Teagan West November 24, 2014 2 Comments

We’re four weeks out from Christmas (gasp) so we’re here to lend you a helping hand when it comes to ticking things off your ‘presents to buy’ list.

I’ve got endless inspiration for gift-giving to the ladies in your life – the sporty chic, homely gal, fashion dolly, boho babe, trendsetting sista, bling-loving diva, stylish fashionista, girly girl, brand-name dame, active woman and social butterfly. I’ve got them all covered!

Lads especially, take note.

I’m loving the entire High Summer 2014 Collection of sandals, flats and heels by Sol Sana that I couldn’t stop at including just one in my gift guide. They’re the perfect addition to every summer wardrobe when paired with a cute new hat, statement jewels and gypsy luxe threads (Spell Designs can do no wrong in this department).

Makeup, bags, perfume, skincare and accessories are all 20-something’s dream come true, and a fancy new camera to ignite creativity is the perfect gift for someone extra special.

For those who are a little harder to buy for, a beautiful candle and a selection of quality tea make a fabulous present – they’re both something we love, but wouldn’t usually splash the cash on, instead opting for a very cheap alternative.

An inspiring bio, healthy living cookbook and a dash of activewear to get her moving and motivated post festive season round off my go-to christmas gift guide.

Sister, check. Cousin, Check. Girlfriend, Check. New love interest, Check. Friend, Check. Sister-in-law, Check. Secret Santa Gift, Check. Best friend, Check. Daughter, Check. They’re all sorted come December 25.
