HOT OFF THE PRESS: A food truck gold mine has permanently descended on our darling Brisbane Showgrounds. From Wednesday through to Sunday, Brisbane foodies will find a mountain of street eats at the Dairy Hall and Sugar Building in our very own Bowen Hills. Repurposed to preserve the character and heritage of the building, the Welcome to Bowen Hills venue is licenced to hold a truck-full of hungry people (up to 1000) and will feature three to five continually rotating vendors to choose from daily. Just recently, it was announced that food truck royalty King of Wings has signed on for six weeks. How fab! Think names like Mr Burger, Cheeselane, Flavours of Eataly, Bruce the Foodtruck, I Heart Calamari, Gnocchi Gnocchi Brothers + more.
We know you loved our food truck directories, and we know you love good food… So we’re excited to announce this weekend’s super event – Brisbane’s first food truck gathering, appropriately titled Food Truck PheNomNomNom.
The event will be held this Sunday, June 1, from 12-6pm at Coorparoo Bowls Club (directions here). All of our favourite truckers will be there, and some new ones too!
The lovely folk from Juan More Taco, along with a bunch of other food truck operators, have organised the event in celebration of Brisbane’s growing food truck and street food culture.
Food Truck PheNomNomNom’s debut is all about great food and good times as 9 local food vendors unite to serve their made-with-love cuisine alongside a cold beverage and live music by Don and the Mobsters – a four-piece bluesy, rock band known on the local music scene.
It’s a family event too, and that includes your fury friends!
Inspired by Adelaide’s Fork on the Road food truck event, The Food Truck PheNomNomNom has a truck to satisfy every palate – from Italian and Mexican to coffee, sweets and some very tasty chicken wings (Yum)!
So who will be there?
Sushi Neko Food Van, The Chocolate Komberry Co, Juan More Taco, V’s Vanilla Van, The Pasta Cruiser, Roam’In Pizza, I Love Frozen Yoghurt, King of the Wings and The Kai Kart will all be there with their trucks packed full of goodness just waiting to be devoured.
How can you resist a line-up like that!
