At BT, we love this because it puts our beloved Australian designers on the map. This month, we’ve blissfully discovered a new #stylecrush. It’s gorgeous ready to wear label, RÚDI MIRO. Launched November 2017, with feminine silhouettes and a collection of effortlessly classic designs, RÚDI MIRO are out to show women just how easy it is to build the ultimate Forever wardrobe. Street Style At The Suitcase Rummage

posted by Madi West August 14, 2015 0 comments

The Suitcase Rummage is one event on Brisbane’s regular event calendar that ticks a lot of boxes for my university lifestyle, it’s somewhere I frequently visit to host my own store, and also for a spot of vintage shopping. For those of you who don’t know, the Suitcase Rummage is a vintage marketplace that sets up in a number of locations in Brisbane on alternate weekends, where stall holders register online to set up shop and sell to the general public. It’s just $25 to secure a space at the regular market (must book online in advance) and you can sell anything and everything, at whatever price point you desire. There’s just one catch – you’re only allowed 3 suitcases of stuff, and you have to see from your suitcase, rummage style. From preloved clothing and brand name vintage threads to handmade goodies by Brisbane locals, the Suitcase Rummage is a great place to stop by, have a rummage and grab a bargain.

I recently held a market stall at the Brisbane square location (outside the Treasury Casino) and, as always, I fell in love with the street style I spectated, and couldn’t resist the opportunity to share it with you, because after all, us Brisbane folk are a stylish bunch, no matter what they say down south.

In true “Humans of New york” style, I invaded the personal bubbles of stylish browsers and got chatting with them before snapping a quick pic of the threads they were wearing. So here they are – cute, right!?Street Style At The Suitcase Rummage | Brisbane ThreadsStreet Style At The Suitcase Rummage | Brisbane Threads Street Style At The Suitcase Rummage | Brisbane Threads Street Style At The Suitcase Rummage | Brisbane Threads Street Style At The Suitcase Rummage | Brisbane Threads

BT Style With Dissh

posted by Teagan West June 26, 2015 2 Comments

Happy Friday Everyone!

I just wanted to stop by today and share some of these images from our BT Style collaborations with Dissh (you can find it over here) where we styled this great pinstriped shirt 5 ways, for 5 different occasions. We didn’t end up using them in our original post and they’ve been sitting on my desktop for weeks, so I thought they deserved to see the light of day. So here we are!

This was my favourite outfit combination that we styled because I love how these jeans sit, and the rips are perfectly natural and unforced. Despite an undeniable love of ripped, baggy denim, I’m yet to find the perfect pair. But it’s on my hit list this winter and the quest is ongoing (we style another pair of ripped denim in this post). I’m also still a huge fan of the pinstripe top because it is so versatile and goes with almost everything – jeans, pencil skirt, short shorts, denim skirt, tailored pants, midi skit…. the possibilities are endless! I need more of these kind of pieces in my wardrobe!

SWOP It and Go Vintage

posted by Michaela Petrofes May 15, 2015 0 comments

With winter finally here in Brisbane everyone is making a mad dash to try and find the perfect winter staples to help them through these colder months. With lots of winter stock fresh on the racks, it can be easy to find yourself  with a OTT spending on hefty price tags and an outfit the majority of Brisbane are sporting.

So why not opt for some vintage, pre-loved clothing that comes at a price everyone loves instead of your newbies? Lucky for us, SWOP Clothing Exchange is on hand with a bounty of vintage threads in tow to helps us perfectly work vintage clothing into our winter wardrobes!

SWOP is every vintage hunters  dream destination! The endless range of men’s and women’s vintage clothing makes it so easy to mix unique pieces into your wardrobes. We popped into SWOP last week to style some pieces to show you just how easy it can be to fill your closet with pre-loved clothing without dressing like your great aunt in the 50’s. Here’s some of our favourite pieces…SWOP | Brisbane Threads

Plaid, flared pants are probably the most vintage item we came across and these are to die for! A thin white washed top with beaded detail really pulls the look together with a splash of both modern and vintage vibes. The ends of this top have elastic bands in them, making it super easy to adjust the length of the sleeves to your liking! You’ll be bringing the 90’s back in a very stylish way this season with this look, we guarantee it!

If pants aren’t really your thing then take the top and match it with a midi denim skirt! That’s the beauty of a simple vintage top – you can mix and match it however your heart desires! This midi denim skirt features dainty flowers along the edges, giving it a personality of its own. Wearing vintage doesn’t mean you have to look like you’ve transported from a 90’s chick flick! Sometimes it’s in the subtle details, such as this skirt, that really add a vintage twist.

Another great piece to pair with this skirt is a colourful button up! Everyone loves a good collar and when it’s splashed with vibrant colours it makes it that much better! Take this look a step further this winter by tying the ends of the shirt so it sits on your waist. This will help you create shape and also avoid awkward tucking mishaps. The key to avoiding a weird ‘bump’ when tying a button up is to leave the buttons undone where you want to tie and simply loop the ends together and pull! Take it even further and add a denim jacket for those chilly mornings! Anyone who tells you denim on denim is a thing of the past needs to get down to SWOP ASAP and pair pre-loved denim together. You’ll be a modern, vintage-rocking babe in no time!

SWOP | Brisbane Threads

These loafers are the perfect mixture of vintage and modern chic! Loafers have made a huge comeback this year and are set to be the new staple shoe for winter 2015 (alongside the ankle boot of course!). Mix it up with loafers like these – sporting a funky tassel, cut outs and an on-trend winter colour palette. The neutral colours make them easy to pair with almost any outfit. If you’re feet are feeling the winter crisp a little too much due to the cut outs, add some cute socks or stockings and your feet will be the happiest ones on the block!

SWOP | Brisbane Threads

Every Friday SWOP buys your good condition vintage and pre-loved clothing every Friday from 10am – 5pm. No fast fashion is wanted – eg. Supre, Valley Girl, Temp etc. You can choose to collect the cash or the store credit and whatever SWOP doesn’t buy from you, they will donate on your behalf! They’ve had a face lift not too long ago either, so if you haven’t seen the new layout – pop into 93 Boundary St, West End ASAP to indulge in the vintage goodness!

So what are you waiting for!? Get SWOP-ing and start mixing vintage into your modern day winter threads, you’ll be thanking yourself in no time!

Daily Outfit Inspo – Sunday Loving

posted by Teagan West February 22, 2015 0 comments

Oh Sunday, how I love you Sunday!

It’s the day we get to relax, spend time with the people with love and doing the things that make our heart sing (most of us anyway, apologies if you’re one of the fabulous people working on Sunday). This look is so colourful, so fun and also so practical when you’ve got a to-do list that takes you all over town.

I’m spending the day creating fun Daily Outfit Inspo posts for you, learning to cook a new recipe, blogging, organising my home work space and probably a number of other things! So if the sun peaks out any time soon, I’ll be donning an ensemble similar to this. Comfortable cotton pants and a loose top (both in bold colours and fun, slightly clashing patterns) and this amazing bejewelled clutch I came across on Instagram by the fabulous Bell Frankie + Co.

Happy Sunday Brisbabes!

Daily Outfit Inspo – Matching Sets

posted by Teagan West February 21, 2015 0 comments

It’s cold and wet in most parts of the city and fair and wide into the burbs, but that’s no reason we can’t have a sparkly Daily Outfit Inspo post for you to motivate you to get out of your PJ’s and into a fun and flirty ensemble.

Enter the matching two-piece! The two-piece has made a fashionable return to the wardrobes of fashionistas the globe over, with everything from matching crops and skirts to pants, jackets and shorts on high rotation. The two piece is here, and it’s here to stay!

And the best part about the matching two-piece? It’s SO many outfits in one. Wear the top and bottom together for a polished, on trend look, or wear them separately and mix in with the rest of your wardrobe to double the versatility. Jackets with jeans, tops with denim shorts, skirts with a blouse to work, shorts and a tee to a BBQ… the possibilities are endless (well, perhaps until your friends start noticing the same pattern over and over!). If that’s not enough to have you adding a matching set to cart, you must also know that, when paired with heels, some giant sparkly earrings and a cocktail the two-piece is perfect for a night on the town.

Do you need any more convincing?

Daily Outfit Inspo – More Black & Gold

posted by Teagan West February 17, 2015 0 comments

Adding some sparkle to today’s Daily Outfit Inspo with classic black pieces and shiny gold accessories.

I’ve said it before, but how great is a black and gold combo. It’s simple, elegant, classic and timeless; it’s a outfit combination that never gets old, and always brings something new. And most importantly, it’s flattering, complementary and works on every shape and size.  A wardrobe basic like no other!

Happy Tuesday you stylish gals, we’d love to see what you’re wearing (or what you would be wearing today) via the #dailyoutfitinpo hashtag, there’s nothing like a little bit of outfit inspo from a stranger to see new possibilities in your wardrobe.

Daily Outfit Inspo – Ripped Denim

posted by Teagan West February 15, 2015 0 comments

Once again, Sunday has rolled around and there’s a million things I’d like to achieve, but know that only 2 will get done. I’ve accepted that, but doesn’t mean a good outfit won’t help motivate me to push on. Enter today’s Daily Outfit Inspo.

Ripped jeans are the epitome of cool-girl style. They’re comfortable, scruffy, ‘messy,’ versatile and achieve the effortless look in seconds. They can be worn with sandals and a cute top, a button up shirt and heels, a tee and brogues and many, many more combinations. Uber stylish and comfortable, that’s what I’m talking about!

Our number one ripped denim tip: make sure it looks like you’ve got ripped jeans on purpose, not by accident. Other tips and tricks include 1. minimalism is the aim of this look, don’t go OTT on the accessories front as the ripped denim is the hero. 2. Black and white are your friends. 3. Work with similar shades – I’ve kept the colour palette to black, white and shades of aqua and light blue that complement the jeans. If the jeans are a deep denim, cobalt blue works a treat. 4. Be comfortable and don’t over-style.

Here’s some inspo to get you started!

Happy Valentines Day Lovers!

How cute is the new Translucid collection by Cameo the Label – the perfect Valentines Day getup whether you’re spending the day with your other half, flirting up a storm on a double date, dancing to “Single Ladies” with the girls, over-indulging in chocolate watching sappy romantic comedies or simply going about your day like normal (valentine who?). Whatever your romantic situation, there’s always a reason to wear cute florals by Cameo.

I’m especially loving the Chicago Pantsuit, Quarters Top and the Quarters Skirt. What’s your favourite red floral number from the new collection?

Daily Outfit Inspo – Pineapples

posted by Teagan West February 13, 2015 0 comments

Pineapples are still very much a ‘thing,’ and I think I’m finally jumping on the bandwagon. It’s better late than never right.

This tee is brand new to the Aje collection, it’s fresh for summer and can be worn a zillion ways, just like the Aje signature tee we featured in our Australia Day #dailyoutfitinspo post. I love a good tee that can be worn with denim shorts and thongs at the beach, or with a pencil skirt, jewellery and heels for a more sophisticated look.

Here’s how I would wear this glorious new pineapple burst!
