Want A Beginning Boutique Discount Code? We’ve Got One!

posted by Teagan West May 4, 2015 1 Comment

I got you when I said discount code didn’t I?! It wasn’t a trick though, we most certainly have a fabulous Beginning Boutique discount code for all of our lovely readers to enjoy (it’s 30% off!).

We partnered up with Beginning Boutique in the fashion chapter of our first edition of the Insider’s Guide to Brisbane to give all our beaut readers a little treat. And while we were at it, we styled some of our favourite pieces from the BB exclusive collection (see here) to tempt you even further.

The BB exclusive collection has something for everyone – there’s backless playsuits, frilly shorts, structured skirts, the beloved maxi, a bounty of crops and a collection of oversized shirts, all in exclusive BB prints.

The best part though, is that each piece can be worn a number of different ways, and is the perfect foundation for an It-Girl ensemble. Take a patterned shift dress for example. Wear it with tights and a blazer for a chic work look, and then on the weekend, swap the structured pieces for ankle boots, a chambray overshirt and a felt hat for the ultimate Sunday style.

We picked our favourite pieces from the BB exclusive collection and styled them how we would wear them to give you some inspiration, however the possibilities are endless (perhaps we should do a “one piece three ways” post?). Here’s our favourite staple pieces, and coincidently, all are under $40!

The Deviation Dress Red Plaid ($35 with discount code), Sherlock Trench ($39 with discount code) and hat (from $28 with discount code). We love this bright shift pair with camel hues and ankle boots for a fashionable Autumn look. beginning boutique fashion

The Deviation Dress Black Floral ($35 with discount code). We love this floral number paired with a knee-length cape and strappy sandals when the sun is out, or a black blazer and tights for the cooler months.

Beginning Boutique X Brisbane Threads

The Siren Playsuit ($39 with discount code). We love OTT stripes when paired with a splash of chambray, boots and a structured hat for a fun weekend look. Swap boots for sandals and overshirt for your bikini for a stylish day at the beach. beginning boutique fashion

The Faithful Top Navy Floral ($35 with discount code). Wear this cute top with your denim cut-offs or ripped denim for an edgy weekend look. For the office, pair it with a pencil skirt and your favourite heels for weekday cool.

And now for that sneaky discount code I know you’re begging me for… head over here and pop in your name and email address to receive a free copy of the Insider’s Guide To Brisbane in your inbox. Download the guide, flick through to page 8 and you’ll find the code. It’s a treasure hunt! Enter the exclusive Brisbane Threads code at the checkout from now until August 31 to receive a whopping 30% off all orders over $60 (you’ll also get free shipping!). I’ve already used it once (coming to the blog soon!), and there’s no doubt I’ll be plugging it in again soon – especially because BB have new pieces every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

We’d LOVE to see what you buy from BB with the discount code, so don’t forget to tag #bbxbt on Instagram for your chance to be featured on Brisbane Threads!

Chloe Brisbane Threads

Tell us about your Monday-Friday?
Monday to Friday I am hanging out at Beginning Boutiques warehouse style office in West End with an amazing team of young creatives. As PR Coordinator I am usually planning events, collaborating with brands and personalities and just generally thinking of rad things we can do for our customers.
What would we find you doing on a Saturday morning?
Saturday morning is always excercise then brekky with the girls!
Best local coffee joint?
I get my coffee every morning from Cocobliss in South Brisbane, the only place I have found that offers coconut milk!
Where is your most frequented Brisbane eat?
My most frequented Brisbane eat would probably be Sushi Kotobuki in East Brisbane (best sushi in Brisbane) followed closely by Sugo Mi in Oxford St (best Pizza in Brisbane).
What is the most worn or precious item in your wardrobe?
My most worn item would probably be my Zara leather jacket and my most precious would be my leopard print Senso’s!
Best fashion go-to in Brisbane?
Beginning Boutique of course 😉 But if I’m up for a day at the shops I will usually hit up Indooroopilly because of the wide range of stores!
If you had a long weekend to scoot away somewhere, where would you head?
Byron Bay for sure! I have family that live there so I don’t have to worry about accommodation and can just enjoy the beach and bars!

How To Get A Flawless Fake Tan

posted by Chloe Clark December 17, 2014 0 comments

loving tan

When it comes to self tanning – especially if you are tanning for a special occasion- you want to make sure you nail it. Fake tan often gets a pretty bad rap, although this is usually because it is not being applied and maintained correctly.

Last week Beginning Boutique hosted ‘How To Get The Perfect Tan’, an event for Brisbane customers to get together and learn how to achieve the perfect summer glow! Loving Tan shared tips and tricks on how to be beautifully bronzed this summer, from preparing your skin to applying the product and prolonging your tan.

fake tan DIY

So here you have it, five steps to achieving the perfect at-home summer tan:

1. Exfoliate your entire body in the shower and if you are going to shave or wax make sure you do it 24 hours prior to tanning! Right before you apply your tan, moisturize your hands, wrists, elbows, knees, ankles, feet and any dry skin that the tan will cling to.

2. Choose the right tan for your skin type! Loving Tan has a range of mousses that are easy to apply and dry super fast. If you are a rookie then Medium is the way to go so you can get an idea of how your skin takes to the tan. It is also more forgiving if you accidentally miss a patch or pack a little too much on your hands. Dark is great if you have some experience in self tanning and Ultra Dark is the holy grain product for tan-o-rexics! Medium and Dark both come in 2 hour Express Mousses if you need to look great, quickly!

3. Apply a generous amount and work in small sections. First work in circular motions and then pat dry for a flawless finish. Starting from your legs and working your way up is a good idea so you can do your hands last. For perfect hands and feet, only use excess product on the mitt to lightly blend the product, making sure to not miss in between your fingers. The tan has an instant bronzer so you can see where the product has been applied. You don’t need to stress if the bronzer looks streaky, as this will wash off when you shower and you will be left with a flawless tan.

4. To prolong the life of your tan moisturise daily with an unscented moisturizer. Avoid shaving until you are ready to remove or reapply the tan.

5. Use an exfoliating glove to remove tan and make sure there are no patches of old tan left on the skin before reapplying!

Follow all of these steps and you will be sure to have a perfect summer glow!

Beginning Boutique stocks all Loving Tan products and offers free express shipping Australia wide and free same day shipping in Brisbane!
