As an iconic Brisbane fave, you know you’re in for a good time at the legendary beer house that specialises in pleasing big Bavarian appetites with hearty classics such as the Über Schnitzel, Klaus’ Gulaschsuppe (Spicy Beef Goulash Soup) and finger licking good Pretzels.
But for those in the mood for something a little lighter (but just as delicious) say a mighty PRÖST to their ‘new modern favourites’ menu. Lighter & fresh options inspired by Bavarian flavours, created with a modern twist.
So if you’re not willing to throw your heart into a big, meaty feast, give Grandma’s Famous Meatballs a go. The light & fluffy steamed prawn dumplings go down a treat too, especially if they’re accompanied with Popcorn Shrimp “DAMPFNUDEL” Buns (I know, I know, sounds like a mouthful… but your mouth will be full of them as soon as they land on your table… trust me!). The pan roasted salmon with lentils and beet pickled red onions was also a crowd favourite, and that’s a big call from a table of Brisbane foodies.
Now now, even if you dub yourself a ‘light-eater,’ there is ALWAYS room for dessert. Come on, we all know we secretly have a dessert stomach. Top off your degustation with an old favourite like Haus-made Apple Strudel or satisfy your sweet-tooth with Warm Doughnuts w/Cinnamon Sugar incl. Spiced Chocolate Dip & Strawberry Coulis. Mix them together and… (insert prayer emoji here).
So traditional or modern… it’s your call. But for the love of new, traditions have to start somewhere right?
