Many moons ago, Brisbane Threads used to publish daily outfit inspiration. Before I worked here, it was one of my favourite features. So, I’ve desperately been trying to find the time to get it up and running again. As we head into 2015 I’m looking forward to presenting you with some of our best finds on the interwebs for outfit inspo. And so we begin…

Attention fashion lovers of Brisbane – the city’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival program has been announced and it looks incredibly exciting!

Tickets have just gone on sale and the official schedule has been released online (see here) and it’s jam-packed with fashion events and runway shows showcasing the biggest names in Australian fashion and the most talented local designers.

MBFF Brisbane will be held at City Hall after last years success at the newly refurbished heritage building. Put August 24-29 in your diary pronto so you don’t miss a thing!

One again Myer will open the official runway with its Spring Summer 15 show, where you’ll see the gorgeous threads of Alex Perry, Sass + Bide, Wayne Cooper and Aurelio Costarella march down the runway.

The sure-to-be-spectacular Group Show categories are Monili Jewellers Bridal, Emerging Designer and a runway show presented by the Brisbane Arcade. And don’t forget the Mercedes-Benz Group Shows (there’s 3!) – they feature a collective that will wow you no doubt. You’ll see Ted Baker, Ginger & Smart, Lee Matthews, Akira, Easton Pearson, Talulah, Jack Sullivan, Urbbana, Molly & Polly Swimwear, Sacha Drake, Lisa Brown and many, many more hit the runway in super stylish wares.

There’s also a new freebie show on the main stage to be presented by Brisbane Marketing – the Fashion in the City Parade – featuring the hottest trends of Brisbane’s leading retailers.

MBFF Brisbane is not just runway shows though, there’s also loads of fashion events and The Fashion Bar is always open for drinks in celebration of the city’s fashion scene. Some scheduled events that will get you excited are the Mercedes-Benz Luncheon, the QueensPlaza High Tea, the ‘Fashion Oasis’ event presented by Brisbane Arcade (free lunchtime parades!), a discussion about luxury headed by Dr. Nadia Buick from The Fashion Archives and Brisbane Arcade will present the ‘Accessories in Bloom’ cocktail evening and accessories showcase.

Also, Lifeline has a special pop-up shop to help you Dress to Impress for Less by shopping pre-loved and vintage threads.

The week of uber style and all things fashion ends with the Mercedes-Benz Highlights Parade and Wrap Party, an event that may cost you a small fortune, but we think it’ll be worth every penny! Plus, cocktails and canapés are included.

Some MBFF Brisbane events are invite only, however most are open to the public freely or through a purchased ticket. To learn more about the schedule and ticket purchases visit http://www.mbff.com.au or call QTIX on 136 246.

P.S. How amazing is the hero image for the festival designed by fashion illustrator Megan Hess! We’re in love!
