Last week the Antarctic Vortex was in full swing and we certainly felt the chill deep in our bones. In perfect unison with the chill was the launch of The Breakfast Creek Hotel’s newest addition to their rum family: Substation No.41 Rum to keep us warm on even the chilliest of nights!
Substation No. 41 Rum Bar opened it’s doors 3 years ago and is now the largest rum bar in Australia with over 500 rums from 50 different countries in their rum library. The bars newest addition is a sweet and spicy combination that has been aging in oak barrels right here in Queensland and is now ready to dance on your tongue as you welcome in the weekend. The sweetness of the rum comes from the combination of vanilla, cream, plum and toffee with the addition of pepper for that spicy kick.
Throughout the night we nibbled on an array of canapés that were accompanied by a presentation of Substation No. 41 Rum, a tasting of the rum and 3 delicious cocktails – the Summer Storm, Rum punch and an Orange Mojito! Our favourite of the night was the Rum Punch, with it’s summer flavours and fresh vibe making us forgot about the cold snap we were caught up in and instead shifted our drams to warm summer days.
Thank you to the staff at Breakfast Creek Hotel and Substation No. 41 Rum Bar for allowing us to escape the winter chill and be transported to a warmer place with your delicious rum, if only just for the night.
