This is possible through their unique approach and services that include providing appropriate job and interview clothing, resume development, advice on personal presentation and offering interview techniques, as well as building self-confidence in people who are struggling to enter the workforce.
However, the not-for-profit community organisation no longer receives Government funding and are thus self supported through events, fundraisers and sponsorship.
That’s why Suited to Success needs your help, so they can continue to provide their free services to job seekers throughout South-East Queensland.
This Sunday, May 25th, a large fundraising power walk event will be held at Newstead Park, located off Newstead Avenue, Newstead.
Organisers are expecting more than 200 people involved on the day and an additional 50-100 participating virtually in the International Power Walk.
Power walking events will be held around the world in support of the global Dress for Success organisations, so Brisbane’s event this weekend is a great opportunity to support the our local branch of the international initiative.
And as if that’s not reason enough to get involved, the 5km power walk promotes active, healthy lifestyle choices and serves as a “walking testament” to the important relationship between personal health and professional success.
So skip on down to Newstead Park this Sunday at 7am to kick start your second weekday day the right way.
P.S. A 5km power walk in the morning means you can eat unlimited honey puffs at Paniyiri Greek Festival in the afternoon, right? (See our Paniyiri post here) Totally!
So get involved!
