Young creatives Sigrid Sargorski and Luke Graham are set to launch a fresh Brisbane based, fashion arts publication, Moustache magazine this August.

The two talented locals hope to develop the biannual magazine to showcase the vibrant Brisbane arts scene in a way which allows upcoming artists and designers to display their work within a professional publication both digitally and in print.

Since its conception in early 2011 the magazine has been working to build a significant profile within Brisbane, relying heavily on social media such as Facebook to promote the magazine and its ethos of promoting the Brisbane creative community.

Described as “a visual communication overdose in the form of a delicious publication” the magazine already has over 450 likes on its Facebook fan page.

“I am constantly amazed by the amount of enthusiasm from Moustache fans through Facebook and Twitter,” says Graham.

“I think it’s incredible that people have the faith to believe in a magazine that has yet to launch…I guess that is quite indicative of the Brisbane arts culture really…  we all look out for and support each other,” adds Sargorski.

Graham and Sargorski will host the launch of Moustaches’ first art issue next Friday the 26th of August at Alloneword, Fortitude Valley. Free admission and live art, music, fashion demonstrations and film entertainment will be featured at the event.
