Fashion calendars are about to burst, with Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane, hosted by Treasury Casino & Hotel setting the style agenda once again from Saturday 25 – Friday 31 August 2012. Queensland’s premier fashion event will light up the River City spellbinding audiences with the very best from local, national and international designers and fashion retailers.

The Fashion Festival has evolved into a powerhouse on the state’s events calendar and 2012 promises more mesmerising shows, sell-out and stylish events, workshops, discussion forums and of course, more spectacular fashion.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane, hosted by Treasury Casino & Hotel is Australia’s unbackable favourite for launching Spring/Summer collections to the country. Queensland is renowned for its natural beauty and tropical weather, making our capital city a fitting location to showcase these new season collections. With such amazing natural inspiration, our local designers and retailers do Spring/Summer like no one else and each year they continue to thrill audiences with their designs.

With 13 of the 15 shows selling out in record time last year, it really will be a first past the post race for the hottest fashion tickets in town.

This consumer-driven event is staged to coincide with the arrival of new Spring/Summer collections in-store, making these looks accessible to the public direct from the runway. Every look showcased during the Fashion Festival is available and ready to buy, which directly promotes the participating designers by encouraging consumerism. In the face of tough economic times, particularly for bricks-and-mortar retailers, supporting the Queensland fashion industry is increasingly important. The positive economic effect of the Fashion Festival is undeniable, with the majority of designers and retailers who participated in 2011 reporting a significant increase in interest and retail sales as a result, with some collections selling out following the shows.

The Fashion Festival is also proud to support important charity efforts, and $1 from every ticket sold this year will go to The Courier-Mail Children’s Fund, dedicated to providing funds to help sick and disadvtanged children achieve their full potential.

In keeping with its status as Queensland’s most glamorous fashion event, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane is delighted to be hosted by Treasury Casino & Hotel in 2012, one of the city’s most iconic landmarks and a premier entertainment destination. The magnificent heritage-listed casino building is one of Brisbane’s most recognisable, with its Baroque façade and the multi-coloured illuminations that light up the sandstone walls at night. Located at the top of Queen Street in the CBD and right beside the river, Treasury Casino & Hotel is located in the heart of Brisbane’s fashion, dining and entertainment hub.

Like fashion itself, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane will continue to look to the future, continue to move to the next level and, as always, continue to captivate, inspire and enchant audiences. Watch this space.
