My fellow Brisbane fashion enthusiasts, you can now rejoice – the dates for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane have been announced and I can barely control my excitement.
Drum roll please….
This year, MBFF Brisbane will run from Monday August 25 to Friday August 29!
That’s 5 full days of exciting line-ups of local and national designers and previews of THE hottest new Spring/Summer collections that will inspire audiences to See it, Love it, Own it.
Last years MBFF Brisbane proved to be the Festival’s most successful year yet with hundreds of media stories, generated, more than 80 designers and retailers showcased and an audience of more than 7000 coming together to celebrate Brisbane’s fashion scene. So, of course, this year is going to be bigger and better, with MBFF Brisbane determined to strengthen the local fashion industry and provide our Sunshine State with its much-loved, much-anticipated annual celebration of style.
The Festival, which continues with its aim to drive fashion retail in Queensland, will return to Brisbane’s refurbished City Hall for 5 jam-packed days.
Festival Director Lindsay Bennett said City Hall “is truly one of the city’s most iconic buildings and as the epicenter of Queensland’s capital, there could be no more fitting destination for this celebration of the local fashion industry.”
As always, MBFF Brisbane is the ultimate fashion event that promotes collections as they drop in-store, creates a direct connection between consumers and brands and spurs the audience to shop their favourite runway threads.
And this year, the Queensland Government will join principal partner Mercedes-Benz (who are returning for their 9th year with the festival) to show their support and acknowledge the importance of the creative industries and the flourishing fashion industry in Queensland.
Stay tuned for more information about the runway shows, designers and event schedule in the coming months, we’ll be sure to keep you stylish ladies in the know.
P.S. – Applications for designers and retailers to participate in the 2014 festival are now open, but be quick because they close on May 1. Click here for details.
