On November 24, I paid a visit to the new premium cookware store, Le Creuset on our 5th Avenue equivalent, Elizabeth St. The brand originated from France in 1925, and is a global leader when it comes to premium cookware. Translating into ‘The Melting Pot’ in English, Le Creuset is exactly that; a melting pot of exciting colours and products. Famous for their cast iron range, Le Creuset has ranges in materials stoneware, non-stick and stainless steel. Think of any kitchen item you want, and I promise you, Le Creuset has it; casserole and oven dishes, pots and pans, steamers, bowls, cups, teapots and jars, available in all the colours of the rainbow!
The store is fitted out with sleek grey silver oak floors and tables, so the colourful range can take centre stage. Fans of the brand will know the Le Creuset is available in Myer and David Jones, but the new store offers much more variety (in both products and colours) than either department store. Another draw card for the store is onsite kitchen, where product and cooking demonstrations will take place daily. Yes, you read correctly, free food, every day. I can vouch for the zucchini fritters – they are delicious!
You can check out the new Le Creuset store (and the food) at 215 Elizabeth St, Brisbane.
