What is an Insta-meet you ask? It’s a new phenomenon where Instagram users meet in real life at a particular destination (restaurants, an event etc.) to engage in social conversations and partake in an experience all the while reporting back to world of social media. In terms of food, it’s a dining experience where phones are welcome at the table and you’re more likely to know your dinner dates user name before their real one.
The Chelsea Bistro, located in The Barracks at the top of Caxton Street on Petrie Terrace, was the perfect place for said Insta-meet, because the food is absolutely delicious, totally Instagram-worthy and most definitely made all of our followers envious of our diner-time posting.
This is what you’ll find on the menu at The Chelsea Bistro
Entree: Mushroom arancini balls in a caramelised onion aioli, Herbed polenta chips with a red pepper relish and House-made dips with fresh sourdough and
Mains: Poached chicken and tarragon salad; Confit pork belly, celeriac remoulade and apple; Wagyu rump, broccoli puree and wild mushroom ragu; and Chicken breast, braised cabbage and tarragon dressing.

And that’s just what we ate at my table!
The food is beyond incredible and is French-inspired casual Australian dining at its finest. The menu is simple and modern, the wine is quality Australian and international bottles, the service is impeccable and the space is elegant, chic and uber laid-back simultaneously.
