Affordable Organic Veggies

Dreaming of starting the New Year with some kick ass resolutions… those oh-so-common goals… loose a few kilos, move daily and eat healthy. #SaysEverybodyAtTheEndOfEveryYear

Well healthy eating has never been so easy… and whilst I am partial to eating out (just look at#BTInsiderTip) I also love to get creative in the kitchen and cook with fresh produce. Over the past six months I have been travelling to Ipswich on the weekend to collect farm fresh, ORGANIC, picked-a-few-days-before veggies from Hillfields Farm.

Hillfields Farm is an organic CSA farm, which stands for Community Supported Agriculture. It basically means you buy a share in the farm for a season and in exchange you get weekly fresh, organic and seasonal produce! Run by Dan and Melissa Schofield (and their three daughters); Hillfields Farm are taking the paddock-to-plate/meet-your-farmer to a whole new level. They seasonally farm over 50 varieties of vegetables,  pastured free range eggs and raw untreated honey.

As first generation farmers we strive to bring a connection that is lacking in industrial farming. An honest to goodness relationship between farmer and consumer.

Prices start from on $35 a week and members pick up their weekly share at a Market Style Farm Pick up each Sunday between 10-1pm …everything in the box is grown on their farm. Just 10 mins from Ipswich and 30 mins from Brisbane.

If you’re keen to check out Hillfields Farm and meet the farmers, Dan and Melissa Schofield, they are having an OPEN DAY this coming Sunday 17th December 10am – 1pm.
