On Saturday we joined forces with Harlow Hot Pilates & Yoga in Newstead and an intimate group of Brisbane Threads readers for a hot yoga class and an afternoon of nibbles and networking to celebrate the launch of the second edition of The Insider’s Guide To Brisbane. It was a brilliant afternoon filled with good company, healthy treats and zen experiences, so we wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who was a part of the event, including our incredible sponsors and the lovely ladies at Harlow Hot Pilates & Yoga.
We kicked off the afternoon with a Harlow A power yoga class. The room was heated, but it wasn’t too unbearable – enough to make us work up a sweat as Alana talked us through each move and position. Power yoga is a faster flow and is a total body workout that is also great for the mind. It allows you to take a break for the stresses of everyday life, something that was truly welcome on a Saturday afternoon.
Following the class we had a beautiful spread of healthy treats to devour. Nono Donuts provided a platter of our favourite circular treat with a selection of their raw donuts – the Spell Raw Donut and the Matcha Made In Heaven Raw Donut. Valeria from The Well Nest Kitchen provided a drool-worthy spread of strawberries, crunchy seed crackers, bliss balls, activated spicy nut mix and hummus, Pressed Juices quenched our thirst and Poppy Rose Brisbane supplied gorgeous blooms for our treat table.
Of course, no event is complete without a goodie bag! Thanks to PURE by phytocare, Youfood, Premium Spa Australia, My Hairdresser, Steele My Style, Hariklia, Yoga Food, Milky Foot, FAB IRON, Philosophy and Thrive for giving our guests a little something to take home, and Lululemon Athletica and Bio Oil for the great prizes we were able to giveaway.
A huge thank you must also go to the team at Harlow Hot Pilates & Yoga for hosting our tribe and provide a wonderful (sweaty) class. If you want to see more of the action from the event, head on over to Instagram and follow the #BTxHarlowHotYoga hashtag.
