Wow we’re down to our final Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival overview!  I hope you’re all looking forward to an amazing week in our beautiful Brisbane; this week will bring you the best in fashion, trends and new season collections, so get ready because here we go!

Friday the 30th will bring us only one event, the Mercedes-Benz Highlights Parade and Wrap Party!  At 7pm in the Auditorium of Brisbane City Hall join the who’s who of fashion for an evening of decadence as we toast the best of the best from the week that was the Fashion Festival. The Highlights Parade will be followed by a two hour, black tie Wrap Party including cocktails and canapés. Festival organisers say the evening will channel Hollywood’s era of glamour and the modern generation of inspiring design. This is your chance to dress up & radiate red carpet style, so if you haven’t been feeling the fabulous this week, then tonight’s the night!

This year the MBFF has shown an exciting line-up of the best local, national and international designers, all presenting their new season collections alongside, for the first time in its eight year history, the Bridal Group Show for all our blushing brides-to-be!  And in another first, returning to the newly refurbished Brisbane City Hall for all seven runway shows and the closing highlights parade, all staged in the round.

Major fashion names such as Easton Pearson, Lee Mathews, Ginger & Smart and Akira will join Queensland favourites including Darb Couture, Lisa Brown, Gail Sorronda, Tengdahl, Maiocchi and Sacha Drake to present their Spring/Summer collections on a custom-built circular runway, to complement the striking restyling of City Hall’s main auditorium.  All of these fashion heavyweights will share the in-the-round runway with a fresh line-up of emerging designers, and a new design competition will unearth the most promising up-and-coming fashion talent from Queensland’s top six fashion colleges.

Tickets are still on sale, starting at just $37.00, $1 from every ticket sold will also be donated to The Courier-Mail Children’s fund, dedicated to providing funds to help sick and disadvantaged children reach their full potential.

And each ticket includes a complimentary drink courtesy of Fashion Festival partners Deakin Estate and Sanpellegrino.

If all this isn’t enough to get you dressed and ready to runway we don’t know what is!

Stay tuned though because of the next few weeks we will be showcasing 6 of Brisbane’s favourite designers featured in this years Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival!
