If you missed our day one review you can check it out here.
The Creative3 Forum now in its fourth year brings together some of the world’s most accomplished creative entrepreneurs and day two was no exception. Patrick van der Pijl (business model strategist) ran a full day workshop on how to apply a practical business model and scenario strategy, and how to reinvent, design and transform business models appropriate to any sector.
Patrick himself turned the publishing model on its head when he released his book Business Model Generation, by crowdfunding the investment into the project and self-publishing the book. He said: “It’s not about reading books, it’s about communities.” What an amazing perspective on a traditional model.
The result? Business Model Generation has sold over 500,000 copies and Patrick and his team have gone on to work on business models for companies like Toyota, Fujitsu (Japan), Intel (Ireland), Microsoft (US), PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Deloitte. Patrick also performs speeches and training courses around the world.
It was a privilege and insight to be one of the 180 people in the room yesterday.
Attendees had a hands on experience understanding the Business Model Canvas methodology and about future planning in a variety of different scenarios.
