Let me begin by letting you in on a secret, I don’t drink coffee! I know, I know, shock horror, how do I live etc! Well, don’t fret, I get by. Anyway I never let my dislike of coffee ever stop me from visiting and subsequently testing the products of copious Gold Coast cafes.
My latest find is Commune, which is situated on the Lower Gold Coast Highway, just past Burleigh Heads. Located in an old (renovated) butchers shop, Commune is packed full of yummy organic treats, gorgeous coffee (so I’m told anyway!) and lots of local art, vintage goods and eco wear that is available for purchase.
There’s plenty of mismatched, vintage chairs and tables spread around to sit and enjoy the sunshine, inside and out, complete with comfy cushions and blankets, for the cooler weather. Altogether there is a really nice, laid back atmosphere at Commune. There’s always cool tunes playing and it’s great people watching too. They also support Meat Free Mondays (everyday!) where they have delicious vego treats on offer in addition to their regular menu. So if your after a great location for a lazy brunch, Commune is your cup of tea (or coffee)…….
