Aperitivo originates from the Latin verb aperire which means ‘to open’; the idea being that the drink opens (or stimulates) your appetite. It may seem a bit odd to stimulate your hunger by indulging in a pre-dinner drink with snacks, but the Italians believe that the appetite comes when you eat. Leave it to the Italians to romanticize even the way we long for food.
Our good friends at Marchetti have mastered aperitivo hour serving up some of our favourite Italian aperitifs including, Negroni, Americano, Aperol Spritz and some gorgeous Italian Wines. Paired with small Italian style dishes and pizza, this little Italian cafe has us dreaming we’re on a cobblestone road in Milan gazing at the Versace-model waiters.
Marchetti is a boutique Italian style cafe and wine-bar located in Tattersalls Arcade. Don’t miss APERITIVO FRIDAYS, the perfect way to end the working week with your girlfriends in Brisbane CBD.
